STUDER AND GOLD
Norman Studer, left, and E.J. Gold appear in this rare candid 1953 photograph taken by Robert DeCormier at the "Capture-The-Flag" wargrounds, Camp Woodland, near Kingston.
CTF, or Capture-The-Flag, was a wargame played by campkids everywhere. It lasted from dawn past dusk and well into actual darkness, and consisted in running the enemy flag from their base to one's own without getting "tagged" by an enemy soldier.
Teams were differentiated by shirt colors, cloth armbands or improvised headbands.
